The Problem

The World Bank’s complex data on global health and financial protection was buried in lengthy, inconsistent reports. Policymakers and stakeholders struggled to identify key trends, which hindered their ability to make informed decisions. The data existed, but its impact was lost due to a lack of clear and accessible design.

My Role & Approach

As a Design Consultant, I partnered with the World Bank to transform raw data into a user-friendly visual system. My approach was both strategic and hands-on:
  • Defined a comprehensive visual design system for consistency and scalability
  • Redesigned country reports, policy briefs, and data visualization templates
  • Ensured the system could scale across multiple audiences and formats

The Solution Implemented

I delivered a complete visual communication system that included:

  • Redesigned country reports and policy briefs with clear, engaging layouts
  • Scalable templates for datasheets (initially 102, later expanded to 204 total)
  • Consistent design standards to unify reporting and improve accessibility across regions

Quantifiable Results & Impact

The new system made the World Bank’s global health data more accessible and understandable for policymakers on the ground. The consistent, user-friendly design improved clarity, strengthened communication, and increased the potential for the data to influence policy decisions and global health outcomes.
